Where we came from · 2009-2026

Building the verification layer of the internet.

We were founded in Los Angeles in 2009, originally as Demand.io, on the simple premise that online commerce claims should be tested against primary outcomes rather than taken on faith.

In the 2010s we built SimplyCodes, our community-verified savings platform. Across 500,000+ merchants and 75M+ promotions processed daily, SimplyCodes combines real shopper outcomes with automated verification to prove which promo codes actually work at checkout. It generates over 95% of our roughly $20M in annual revenue and funds our AI research out of operating profit.

Testing millions of live offers taught us where marketing claims diverge from reality and gave us an independent economic engine. Instead of chasing venture rounds or selling ad placements inside AI answers, we invested that cash flow into building Axioms.ai and Product.ai.

ADP Research Desk · Context Engineering
Question distilled

“When does giving an AI more context make its answer worse instead of better, and what decides the point where it flips?”

Luke WaltmanAI Developer and Alpha Team Member

“My biggest aha moment from the product.ai research report came when I read an important suggestion it made. It suggested enhancing the operational framework we have for context usage in our AI research repo by incorporating each block’s class and the tool calls it feeds into. That turned out to be the piece we were missing. In our first benchmark run, the structured approach read fewer files repeatedly but still spent more tokens overall, because it verified its work by re-reading everything it had just built. Declaring which tool each block feeds into means verification becomes running that tool and reading the result, instead of re-reading the block. And tagging each block with a class lets the agent skip whole categories of context it does not need for the current task, which is where most of our excess tokens were going. Two small metadata fields address both halves of the cost we measured.”

ADP Research Desk · Decision Science
Question distilled

“When the stakes are as high as choosing where a loved one ages, how much evidence do people need to decide, and is the bar to change that decision higher than the bar to make it?”

Brooke BarrettConsultant, Writer (Unmuddling), and Alpha Team Member

“The answer surprised me, and it deserves its own piece. The short version: people didn’t decide when they had enough facts. They decided when a door opened or a deadline landed. And when they stuck with a choice despite new facts, the reasons on record weren’t pride. They were promises, refusals, and the real cost of moving.”
